Our first event is scheduled for September 17, 2011 at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
The Roundhouse, as commonly known among the citizens of Vancouver, is a building of major historical significance to the City of Vancouver both from an architectural and a social perspective.
Originally, the Roundhouse was comprised of a cluster of buildings whose function was to house and service the great steam locomotives of the day. Today, it is a unique facility dedicated to community development through arts and culture. The community centre is proud to also house Engine 374 — the first passenger train to enter Vancouver on May 23, 1887.
We’re happy to partner with the Roundhouse Community Centre in hosting our guests for the first TEDxKids event in BC and are dedicated to making the conference an unforgettable experience. TEDxKids@BC will combine inspiring talks from the kids on the stage in the Presentation Centre with a number of entertaining activities that our amazing partners are preparing specifically for our audience during the breaks in the Exhibition Hall. To top it all off, we’re bringing awesome kids that will dazzle the audience with their performance.
