We all know incredible kids who do amazing things that go above and beyond our normal day-to-day routine. Those kids who think in wonderfully different and creative ways. Kids who see our world with their own unique, creative perspective.
Have you ever wondered what a conference like TED (http://ted.com) would look like if it featured kids, or adults embracing their inner child as the storytellers? The first of its kind in British Columbia, TEDxKids@BC brings TED’s mission “Ideas Worth Spreading” to Vancouver’s TELUS World of Science and the speakers are all “kids”.
Call for Speakers: Have an Idea Worth Spreading?
We are looking for speakers who will share their ingenuity and “out of the box” thinking through their inspiring stories.
What’s our vision of an ideal speaker?
At TEDxKids@BC we define the word “kid” broadly – very young to not-so-young (in chronological years), but someone who is open to sharing their inspiring stories with our audience.
We are looking for someone who has created a project that has made other people take notice and say: “Wow — what an amazing thing to do!” Or perhaps a kid who has helped others without thinking of him or herself. Or maybe a speaker who has a talent that they would like to share. They could tell the audience about how they developed this talent — or the effect they see in others when they perform.
The possibilities for our ideal speaker are endless. We are limited only by our imagination.
