Making a difference: Top environmentalist under 25

Youth across Canada are making waves and taking action to preserve and protect Canada’s environment. On May 14th, join us at Science World and be inspired by an Arctic outtripper, a sustainability expert, and the Top Environmentalist Under 25 for 2014!

HOLLY NESBITT – #19 (2013). A recent graduate of Simon Fraser University’s Resource and Environmental Management program. Last year, she completed a 51-day canoe trip across the Arctic, mentoring youth and revisiting her passion for the environment along the way.

TESICCA TRUONG – #2 (2013). A sustainability expert in Vancouver, Tesicca has done extensive work with the Vancouver School Board, helping to initiate ‘Plan It Earth’ and ‘Vancouver Youth4Tap’. These projects have created opportunities for communication between different stakeholders in discussing how youths want their future to look.

We’ll also be announcing our Top Environmentalist Under 25 and awarding them their prize!

Through research, scholarship, and workshops, The Starfish Canada is committed to encouraging creative thinking and a positive attitude towards making a difference. Each year, the Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 showcases youth that are taking action and making a difference to Canada’s natural resources. With this program, we aim to provide a glimpse of what it means to be an environmentalist and break the stigmas and stereotypes associated with it.
