With university acceptance deadlines coming up and final exams beginning this week, it's finally sinking in...high school is almost over. As I finish this chapter in life as a high school senior and prepare to begin a blank page as a university first year, a more important question comes to mind: am I still a kid!?
Well, according to All-You-Can-Eat buffets, we all (unfortunately) cease to be a kid after the age of 12. But when do you really stop being a kid? The benchmark varies from person to person, but I believe that we never really cease to be a kid at heart if we retain childlike qualities:
- Endless imagination - there are no limits. colour inside what lines???
- Laugh it off - nobody's perfect. kids don't feel the need to take every negative thing seriously.
- Greet warmly - a classmate you've just met? more like a new best friend!
- Believe - dream anything possible.
And you have probably been asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?" as if you had to change and become something else, instead of just being simply you. I'm growing up, but I'm still a kid. Kids are awesome!
And now for an inspirational message from Kid President:
